Te Hīkoi Tupu is a supportive, hands-on programme designed to help you take your next steps towards education, employment, training and your future goals. Whether you’ve had a break from learning, haven’t found the right pathway yet, or simply want a fresh start, Te Hikoi Tupu provides a supportive place to build your confidence, develop practical skills and discover what’s possible for you.

Te Hīkoi Tupu is about more than just sitting in a classroom. You’ll have the opportunity to:

- Build confidence and develop your communication skills
- Strengthen your literacy and numeracy
- Explore your interests, strengths and future goals

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. We’ll work alongside you to identify your goals, build on your strengths and help you develop the skills and confidence to take your next step.

Entry Criteria:

Te Hīkoi Tupu is designed for people who are not currently engaged in school, education, training or employment and are ready to take their next step.

You may be eligible if you:

• Are aged between 15 - 24 at enrolment
• Are not currently enrolled in secondary school
• Are not currently enrolled in another full-time education or training programme
• Are not currently in any form of employment
• Are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, where required by the programme funding criteria

Please note, if you are aged 15 at time of enrolment we will require an exemption from school letter from The Ministry of Education, which we can assist with once you have been interviewed for the programme.
