Future Goals Written at Training For You

Sue Trilford is a skilled practitioner in Medical Thai massage. She trained and worked for five years in her homeland of Thailand, before taking a break to be a full-time Mum to her two children here in New Zealand. When they were both school-aged, she was keen to update her skills in preparation for opening her own business. Says Sue, “It was an opportunity to do something for myself. It was the right time.”

Sue had friends who had done the Tangata Toa course at Training For You, and she’d heard good things about it. She enrolled with a plan to build her confidence, make more social connections, and improve her English speaking.

On the Tangata Toa course, students are encouraged to think about their future aspirations and possibilities. Sue’s tutor helped her to write about her business goals. Sue says, “The word ‘goals’ was the first word that I learned! Owning my own business was my dream.”

Since opening in January of last year, Sue’s Thai Massage has gone from strength to strength, with around 1,000 individuals currently on their client base - and already plans for expansion.

Sue is pleased she had a great start with Training For You, “I’m glad I went there. It’s a very helpful course. You gain a lot of confidence, and meet some really nice people. And the teachers are really lovely. I really enjoyed it – it was good every day.”
