This course aims to raise the literacy and numeracy awareness and knowledge of education practitioners working with adults in polytechnics, PTEs, ITOs and other adult education organisations.

What is the Qualification?

The National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (Vocational Tutor/Lecturer or Workplace Trainer) - Level 5, 41 Credits, comprises six modules of learning including the following Unit standards:

  • 21204 – Develop adult learners’ literacy and numeracy skills within a training or education programme
  • 20469 – Evaluate adult learners’ training sessions
  • 7093 – Design learning sessions for adult learners’ education and training

NCALNE will give you the skill and knowledge to assess your course demands compared to your learners’ literacy needs and then plan, deliver and evaluate literacy in your vocational course.

What are My Study Options?

Online / Mixed Mode

The course is delivered to you online with full email and phone support. To enhance your on-line learning, NCALNE is supplemented by six face-to-face workshops available in a number of regional centres. Attendance at these is strongly recommended.

Online / Fast Track

If you already have at least ten recent NZQA credits in adult education and training, at Level 5 or above in selected domains, then Fast Track your way to an NCALNE qualification. Study online and earn your qualification quicker, while saving time and money!
